Art Konsult is delighted to announce the grand opening of “IN SOFT STROKES”, a solo exhibition featuring the mesmerizing works of visionary artist Awani Kant. The exhibition will take place from 15th October 2024 to 30th October 2024 at Art Konsult, Hauz Khas Village, New Delhi. The opening of the exhibition will take place on 15th October, 6 PM onwards.
The opening event will feature two esteemed personalities, Shri Prayag Shukla, an Eminent Art Critic and Poet, and Shri Jatin Das, an Eminent Artist.
At the heart of Awani Kant’s exhibition, his Blue Period paintings take center stage, offering a vibrant contrast to the melancholic blues of Picasso. Kant’s blues are bright, joyful, and deeply nostalgic, drawing inspiration from the seas that shaped his life, from the Mediterranean to the confluence of the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal. Through these works, he invites viewers to reconnect with the forgotten emotions of love, desire, and passion, vital themes that run throughout his art. His depictions of nude figures, often labeled as erotic art, use everyday symbols like flowers, fruits, and animals to enhance the sensuality of the female form, while grounding it in the realities of life.
Mentored by renowned artists like Ramkinkar Baij and K.G. Subramanyan, Kant has developed a unique hybrid style that challenges societal norms around spirituality and sensuality. His art, infused with playful eroticism and symbolism, explores the tension between these two forces, inviting viewers to reflect on their own emotions and the beauty of life’s sensual pleasures. Through his bold and expressive works, Kant urges us to reclaim the raw, unfiltered feelings that define our humanity.
