Jamai No. 1 trailer review: A fun rollercoaster of family dynamics with a new twist

Prateek Sharma and Parth Shah, under their banner Studio LSD, have brought new stories that are unique yet perfect for the audience’s taste. Their forthcoming show, Jamai No. 1, is another addition to the simple, fun, yet thought-provoking shows they are creating. The trailer of the show has already created a buzz in the industry as it focuses on new family dynamics while keeping it light-hearted.

The trailer kicks off with Riddhi Chotwani on a phone call telling the other person that no one can dare to harm her. But soon she is engulfed in a storm that leaves her hair raised, literally and figuratively. Soon, a woman who appears to be her mother is heard saying that Chotwani House is not made of sand that anyone can shake its foundation. But little did she know that it would be the last time she would say this.

Then enters our Jamai, smashing through the wooden gate and making a hell of an entry. He says that he has come as ghar jamai and will clean the house, not literally but figuratively. He pulls Riddhi towards him, and both are seen dressed as bride and groom, leaving everyone shocked. The narrator then says that this jamai will use twisted methods to straighten this family for good.

The first few seconds of the trailer are enough to get you hooked. The show’s comedic yet unique tone is evident. Abhishek Malik, who plays the jamai Neel Paranjape, is the perfect balance of charm and chaos as he strives to discipline the Chotwanis while keeping Riddhi by his side and protecting her.

Simaran Kaur, who is seen as Riddhi, plays a strong and powerful businesswoman who doesn’t take no for an answer and knows how to make her stand.

The trailer takes us inside the Chotwani family, who are rich but not rich at heart, and Neel is here to make them that. As the show is set to premiere from December 9 on Zee TV at 10:30pm (Monday- Friday), it will be interesting to see how the family dynamic unfolds after Neel’s entry and how he truly fixes the Chotwani family.

In short, Jamai No. 1 is all about love, relationships, power plays, and the blurred line between discipline and control. It definitely promises to be both hilarious and thoughtful, and we can’t wait to go on this unpredictable ride.
