Empowering Rural Girls: Saanjhi Concert Highlights Importance of Education

Pancham Nishad Creative, a leading organization, presents “Saanjhi,” a mesmerizing evening of semi-classical and folk music honoring womanhood on the eve of International Women’s Day. This uplifting event will take place on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at the prestigious Nehru Centre Auditorium in Worli, Mumbai, commencing at 6:30 p.m.

The primary objective of this concert is to shed light on the critical need for education in rural India. Collaborating with AIM for Seva, an esteemed NGO dedicated to this cause, the concert aims to raise awareness and support for girl child education programs in rural areas. AIM for Seva has been tirelessly working towards this mission, operating 94 free student hostels across the nation, benefiting numerous underprivileged children.

“Saanjhi” serves as a platform to celebrate India’s diverse folk music heritage, featuring performances by accomplished women artists. Renowned vocalists such as Indrani Mukherjee and Devaki Pandit will grace the stage, promising an evening filled with soulful melodies and cultural richness.

Accompanying these esteemed artists are exceptionally talented musicians, including Ramkumar Mishra, Vinay Mishra, Ojas Adhiya, Amogh Dandekar, Kamlesh Bhadkamkar, Sagar Sathe, and Sandeep Mishra. The event will be hosted by the engaging narrator Ankita Khattry.

More than just a musical extravaganza, “Saanjhi” pays homage to the legacy of legendary women across India, weaving together traditional folk music forms like Hori, Kajri, Baramaasa, Jhula, and Chaiti. Through these melodies, the concert aims to offer a glimpse into the profound expression of femininity within cultural traditions.

Devaki Pandit expresses, “Celebrating womanhood is about acknowledging the strength and resilience that women embody. Through ‘Saanjhi,’ we honor the profound influence women hold in shaping our cultural landscape.”

Indrani Mukherjee adds, “In the folk tunes of ‘Saanjhi,’ we discover the heartbeats of our culture, celebrating the resilience and beauty found in every note.”

Pancham Nishad Creative Ltd., established in 1996, has been dedicated to showcasing India’s musical heritage worldwide. Partnering with AIM for Seva, they continue their tradition of supporting NGOs committed to social causes.
