India, 12th August 2024: In honor of Independence Day, Eye-Q, a prominent chain of super-speciality eye care hospitals, is set to conduct extensive eye care camps at its Haldwani and Almora facilities on August 15th, 2024. This initiative aims to provide free and comprehensive eye care services to the local communities, symbolizing the liberation from preventable vision problems, much like the essence of personal freedom and community empowerment celebrated on Independence Day.
Eye-Q’s mega camps will target preventable eye conditions such as cataract, glaucoma, and refractive errors, which pose significant public health challenges. Through early detection and intervention, the camps will offer comprehensive eye examinations and prompt treatments, aiming to reduce preventable blindness and vision impairment. The goal is not only to address existing vision issues but also to prevent future ones, thereby improving the overall quality of life for those affected.
To maximize outreach, the mega camps will be promoted through strategic awareness campaigns, including the distribution of pamphlets and the placement of banners in local areas and neighboring villages. Eye-Q is determined to reach 1,000 individuals with this initiative, placing a special emphasis on underserved and underprivileged communities. Attendees without immediate vision concerns will receive general advice on maintaining eye health, while those identified with vision problems will be offered detailed counseling and scheduled for follow-up examinations, including cataract screenings and other necessary treatments. The camps will be led by a distinguished team of ophthalmologists, including Dr. Mahesh Mathur, Dr. Nausheen Niyaz, and Dr. Ajay Sharma, Founder and CMD of Eye-Q.
Dr. Ajay Sharma emphasized the significance of the initiative, stating, “Just as independence symbolizes freedom from constraints, clear vision represents freedom from the limitations of poor eyesight. This Independence Day, our mega eye care camps aim to provide that same sense of liberation by offering essential vision care to those in need. We are committed to breaking down barriers to eye health, particularly for underserved communities. Through early detection and treatment of preventable conditions, we strive to enhance lives and empower individuals with the gift of clear sight. We invite everyone in Haldwani and Almora to take advantage of this opportunity and get their eyes checked, joining us in our mission to improve vision and promote overall well-being.”
This initiative is part of Eye-Q’s ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, reflecting the organization’s dedication to advancing eye care awareness and providing accessible healthcare services. With over 17 years of experience and more than 8 million patients treated, Eye-Q remains committed to conducting 600,000 comprehensive eye examinations by 2027, reinforcing its mission to expand access to quality eye care across India and beyond.
