Frido’s journey began in 2017 when paraplegic athlete Saravana Kumar faced a critical challenge—his inability to find a wheelchair that met his personal hygiene needs nearly forced him to withdraw from an international table tennis tournament. He discovered the Frido Go Wheelchair, then in its prototyping stage, and reached out to Arcatron Mobility. Recognizing the opportunity to drive meaningful impact, the company collaborated with Kumar to ensure he could compete in Jordan.
What started as an innovative solution for one athlete has since evolved into a globally recognized brand, exporting to eight countries. This growth aligns with India’s expanding wheelchair market, which is projected to reach ₹2,900+ crores by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 8%.
Built for effortless navigation, the Frido Electric Prime Wheelchair is engineered for safety, ease of use, and adaptability. Its high-performance 24V lithium battery offers a range of up to 15 km per charge with a top speed of 6 km/hr. Heavy-duty tires ensure stability across terrains, while an ambidextrous joystick provides smooth control. A voice-guided SOS system enables quick emergency assistance, and its dual-mode flexibility allows seamless switching between electric and manual modes. Foldable and portable, it supports users up to 100 kg, making mobility truly accessible.
Beyond innovation, Frido remains deeply invested in social impact. To commemorate International Wheelchair Day, the brand partnered with Aaji Care Elderly Home, donating 20 Frido Foldable Wheelchairs across centres in Pune, Mumbai, Thane, and Goa.
