JSW MG Motor India is all set to launch the MG Windsor EV Pro on May 6, introducing a more advanced version of its popular electric vehicle. Since its debut in 2024, the Windsor EV has become a key player in MG’s electric lineup, thanks to strong sales and positive customer response. The new EV Pro variant will bring several important updates in technology, battery, safety, and comfort. Here’s a look at the top five changes.
1. Larger Battery Pack for Extended Range
One of the most significant upgrades in the Windsor EV Pro is the larger 50.6 kWh battery pack, replacing the current 38 kWh unit. This is the same battery used in the Wuling Cloud EV (sold in Indonesia), and it offers a range of up to 460 km on a single charge—a considerable increase over the existing model’s 332 km.
Despite the new battery, the performance figures remain unchanged. The electric motor will continue to deliver 136 hp and 200 Nm, powering the front wheels for smooth urban commutes.
2. Subtle Design Enhancements
While the overall exterior design is expected to stay largely the same, MG is likely to introduce a new paint scheme and a distinct ‘Pro’ badge to help visually differentiate the upgraded model from its predecessor.
3. Upgraded Interiors with Premium Touches
Inside the cabin, the Windsor EV Pro will feature dual-tone interiors with a sophisticated mix of black and brown hues, complemented by wood-textured accents. This enhanced aesthetic adds a premium feel to the EV, appealing to buyers looking for luxury at a competitive price.
4. Advanced Safety with ADAS
A major highlight of the Pro version will be the inclusion of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Utilizing a network of sensors and cameras, these features are designed to improve both safety and driving comfort. Expect features like lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and collision avoidance systems.
5. New Features and Added Convenience
Another smart addition is the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, allowing the car’s battery to power external electronic devices—an increasingly popular feature in modern EVs. The Pro variant will also offer additional comfort and convenience features, although specifics are yet to be officially confirmed.
Expected Pricing
The current MG Windsor EV is priced between Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom). With the new features and enhancements, the Windsor EV Pro is expected to carry a premium over the existing version.
