Sheena Chohan Wins Best Actor of the Year, Series (Female) Award – Comedy Drama

Mumbai, December 2024 — Sheena Chohan was honored with the prestigious Best Actor of the Year (Female) award in the comedy-drama category for her exceptional performance in the series Ex Mates. The award was presented by renowned director Raaj Shaandilyaa, celebrated for his hit film Dream Girl, during the glittering Boogle Bollywood Awards 2024 in Mumbai. The event, organized by Gaurav Rana Sukhija, brought together a dazzling array of artists, filmmakers, and industry luminaries.

Reflecting on her character Shreya, Sheena shared, “Creating Shreya was so much fun because comedy is my favorite genre, and bringing drama into it added a cherry on the cake. Shreya is a modern girl with great ambitions, but she’s stuck in a relationship that’s far from ideal. Playing her allowed me to explore a range of emotions — from vulnerability to resilience — all while keeping the tone light and relatable. Living this role to the fullest was pure joy.”

Ex Mates is a refreshing slice-of-life comedy that navigates the complexities of modern relationships. Sheena’s portrayal of Shreya has been widely acclaimed for its authenticity, emotional range, and impeccable comedic timing. Both critics and audiences have praised her ability to make the character relatable and inspiring, capturing the struggles and aspirations of today’s generation with depth and humor.

At the awards ceremony, Sheena stunned in a custom-designed ensemble by Mrunal Mistry, effortlessly blending elegance with confidence. The memorable moments of the evening were beautifully captured by photographer Bharat Midha, as Sheena celebrated her win with grace and gratitude.

With Ex Mates marking a career milestone, Sheena is eagerly looking forward to her upcoming projects. She will make her Bollywood debut in Sant Tukaram opposite Subodh Bhave, directed by Aditya Om. Additionally, she has exciting roles in the international thriller Bhayaava, the Hollywood film Nomad, and a Telugu film where she takes on the dynamic role of a lady cop.

Beyond her on-screen achievements, Sheena continues to inspire as the South Asia Ambassador for Human Rights with humanrights.com, merging her passion for acting with her dedication to meaningful storytelling and advocacy.
