Shivangi Verma on Podcasts: A Personal Medium for Connection

Podcasts as a Storytelling Platform
Podcasts are becoming increasingly popular, and Tera Ishq Mera Fitoor actress Shivangi Verma is thrilled with this emerging content-sharing format. “Podcasts are such a great medium for storytelling and connection. They allow people to share experiences in a very personal way,” she said.

Celebrities and Boundaries
Shivangi appreciates how podcasts reveal the relatable, human side of celebrities. She remarked, “I think it’s wonderful that celebrities are using podcasts to talk about their lives, as it brings out a more relatable and human side to them. But at the same time, I feel it’s important to maintain boundaries. Sharing is great, but not everything needs to be out in the open. Everyone deserves their own space, even public figures.”

The Balance Between Sharing and Privacy
Acknowledging the challenges of social media exposure, Shivangi highlighted the importance of maintaining balance. “With everything being out there on social media, privacy has become a luxury for many. I believe balance is the key. It’s okay to share some aspects of life, but keeping some things personal is also very important. Social media and other platforms are powerful tools, but they shouldn’t take away our sense of self or peace,” she explained.

The Shift in Celebrity Openness
Reflecting on the evolving attitudes of celebrities towards sharing their personal lives, Shivangi noted, “Earlier, celebrities used to be very guarded about their personal lives, but they are now very vocal about it. I feel being vocal can help fans understand the real person behind the screen, but it’s a choice. Some people feel comfortable opening up, and some prefer to keep it private—and both are perfectly fine.”

When to Share and When to Hold Back
Shivangi believes that sharing can be powerful but requires discernment. “Personally, I think it depends on what you’re sharing and how it’s helping you or others. Being vocal about struggles or achievements can inspire people, but oversharing might lead to unnecessary complications,” she added.

Announcing Life Milestones
On the topic of celebrities sharing life milestones, Shivangi emphasized that it is a deeply personal decision. “If someone feels happy sharing their engagement, marriage, or even breakups, and it’s coming from a place of positivity, then why not? But it’s not something I’d feel compelled to do. I’m more of a ‘share-with-loved-ones’ person when it comes to deeply personal milestones,” she said.

Work Over Virality
Shivangi is not drawn to the idea of going viral for personal matters. “I’d prefer to focus on my work and let that speak for itself. If something from my personal life naturally becomes known, I’d be okay with that, but I wouldn’t actively push it,” she shared.

The Joy of Personal Space
Concluding her thoughts, Shivangi said, “There’s a certain joy in keeping some parts of life just for yourself and those close to you. So while I respect people who choose to share openly, I like to maintain my own space and pace.”
