NIIMS Hospital Expands to 900 Beds & Installs Advanced Siemens 1.5T MRI System

In a significant move to enhance accessible and technology-driven healthcare, NIIMS Hospital (Noida International Institute of Medical Sciences College & Hospital) has expanded its facility to 900 beds, establishing itself as one of the largest tertiary care centers in the region.

Complementing this expansion, the hospital has installed the MAGNETOM Sempra–1.5T MRI System by Siemens Healthineers. Featuring TIM & DOT technology, the system represents a leap in diagnostic precision and patient comfort.

The new MRI system is designed with a non-claustrophobic, flared bore, creating a stress-free environment particularly beneficial for children and elderly patients. It also supports feet-first imaging for most scans and includes QUIET Suite technology, which reduces scan noise by up to 93%, dramatically improving the overall patient experience.

Mr. Raj Vaardhan Dixit, OSD Chairman of NIIMS Hospital, stated,
“We are thrilled to announce this development at NIIMS. With increased bed capacity and world-class radiology infrastructure, we are now better equipped to manage a larger patient base while maintaining international standards in imaging and diagnostics.”

Highlights of the Advanced MRI System:

  • CAPRINHA technology enables ultra-fast 3D scan sequences in just 12–15 seconds.

  • Feather-light coils allow for high-precision imaging with improved ergonomics.

  • Highest clinical resolution currently available, coupled with the shortest bore length, ensures comfort across all body types.

NIIMS Hospital continues to offer affordable care under Ayushman Bharat and the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS), reinforcing its mission to serve economically weaker sections and government-insured individuals.

With these upgrades, NIIMS further cements its reputation as a tech-enabled, patient-centric healthcare leader in the NCR. The hospital invites patients, medical professionals, and institutional collaborators to explore its expanded services and cutting-edge facilities.
