There’s something magical about growing in an industry that constantly pushes you, shapes you, and surprises you at every step. On this Television Day, actress Monika Khanna, who plays Ramkudi in Sun Neo’s show Prathaon Ki Odhe Chunri: Beendani, shared her journey and spoke about how the television industry has shaped her as an actor.
While sharing about her journey, Monika shares, “I feel truly blessed because this industry has taught me things that no one else could have ever taught me in life. Whatever appreciation I receive for my acting, whatever praise people give me, I owe it all to the people I have worked with. I want to give them full credit. My hard work, dedication, honesty, my intention and sincerity; when all of this comes together and meets the right opportunity, it blooms. That is exactly how this television industry has given me so much. This is just the beginning; there is still a long way to go. I hope these values stay with me, and I will continue working hard and entertaining people through my work.”
She further added, “Television plays a huge role in shaping our society and culture, and I feel proud that we are taking our culture forward. So many children watch these shows and learn so much, every medium has good and bad sides, and it depends on how a person receives it. Even though I haven’t personally related to many of the characters I’ve played, professionally I have learned a lot, especially under the guidance of directors who helped me evolve. It has been a beautiful journey, and I feel blessed to be part of an industry where no one asks for your résumé; only your skills, passion, and hard work matter. I would love to see more stories on television that portray strong, confident women and that audiences embrace narratives that truly highlight women’s empowerment.”
