Actress Shivangi Verma has broken her silence on the controversy involving veteran actor Govind Namdev, addressing recent dating rumours that emerged after a photo of the two circulated online. While she has consistently denied any romantic involvement, she now expresses her shock at Govind Namdev’s recent accusation that she planted the image for publicity.
“I was shocked when I read Govindji’s comments,” Shivangi says. “The post was made with his consent—he even accepted the collaboration request and later removed it on his own.”
Refuting the claim that she sought attention through the photo, Shivangi adds, “I’m a professional actress and I deserve respect. Just because someone is a senior actor doesn’t mean they can make such baseless accusations. What would I possibly gain from publicity over something like this?”
Setting the record straight, she continues, “I’m currently paired opposite a well-known star in an upcoming project and I’m focused on contemporary on-screen pairings. I’ve already clarified this issue twice—once in December and again in May. Let me say it one last time: these dating rumours are completely false.”
She concludes with a pointed remark about the state of online speculation: “Social media these days feels like Bigg Boss. I’m working on two major projects right now, and my sole focus is on my career.”
