Renowned director E Niwas recently opened up about the challenges and rewards of filming the critically acclaimed web series Tanaav Season 2 in the scenic yet complex region of Kashmir. Directed by Sudhir Mishra and E Niwas, the show is produced by Applause Entertainment and Applause Productions.
Discussing the region’s unique appeal, Niwas shared, “Shooting in Kashmir was both challenging and blissful. Logistically, it’s tough terrain, but visually, it’s a treat. The script demanded we capture both the beauty and the complexity of the Valley. While it was hectic, we were fully committed to depicting the contrasting worlds of Kashmir—the stunning landscapes and the turbulent underbelly. Seeing the final result and the audience’s response, it was all worth it.”
For Niwas, Kashmir wasn’t just a picturesque backdrop, but a character in itself, deeply intertwined with the story. He explained, “The script’s emotions guided me throughout the process. Every character has their own journey, and the key was to stay true to the central theme. I’m pleased with the outcome, and more importantly, we had fun shooting.”
