Shilpa Shetty-backed Agritech Startup, Kisankonnect, Raises ₹31 Crore to Revolutionize Fresh Produce Delivery

Shilpa Shetty’s invested agritech startup Kisankonnect has recently raised Rs 31 crore. This funding has been raised under Pre-Series A round. The company has acquired the fund under the leadership of Green Frontier Capital (GFC), a fund focusing on tech, through which the company wants to achieve growth. Dhanuka Agritech Ltd has also invested money in this round. VC Grid and some other family offices have also invested.

According to the statement issued by the company, KisanConnect has worked towards strengthening the community of farmers by obtaining funds from investors. The company wants to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers and is working towards increasing the productivity of farmers.

What did the founder of the company say?

Vivek Nirmal, CEO and Founder of Kisankonnect, says that we are not only empowering the farmers, but also benefiting the consumers, because they get safe food to eat. Our tech-based, fully temperature controlled and traceable supply chain is unique in the country. With its help, vegetables and fruits can be delivered fresh from farmers to our customers in Mumbai and Pune in the shortest possible time.

Where will the funding money be used?

This company will use the money raised from the funding to work with 5000 farmers. The company is working towards strengthening its supply chain and technology. The company is also planning to open some additional stores in Mumbai and Pune using a part of the funding money.

This startup delivers fresh vegetables to customers

Let us tell you that Kisankonnect is a fresh-produce startup. It sources fruits and vegetables directly from farmers and delivers them to more than 1 lakh customers in Mumbai-Pune. For this the company is using its D2C app. Besides, the company also has some stores from where these vegetables reach the customers.
